French Quarter and Our House

Well, you haven't seen the inside yet, so here it is! This is what our new place looks like right after you walk in the front door.

Here's looking from the last doorway into the bedroom and beyond into the kitchen...

Cabinets...check.

The new couch! Our one piece of non Craigslist/hand-me down/old furniture.

Here's our little backyard. It looks super small in the picture because it's all cut off...but it is pretty small. We're hoping to get some used patio furniture in the next couple of days to spend all this nice fall weather sitting around outside. Oh...and that's my mango tree in the plant on the bottom left...she's doing good.

Lindz and I took a little bike trip to the French Quarter a week ago. It's been really nice weather lately, mid-70's and sunny. So, we just went and walked around a little bit. It's about 2 miles from our house.

The classic shot of the church in Jackson Square.

This is just a view of the French Quarter looking down towards the business district. I should have taken some pictures of the balconies with the overflowing plants and what not...but I didn't.

I thought this was cool. This is the street we live on (just two miles north) and it runs right through the heart of the French Quarter.

Oh Bourbon St. Love Acts and pizza? Who knew? This is the kind of stupid stuff you see all over down there. But, if you stay off of Bourbon St., the Quarter is really beautiful and really nice to stroll around.

Yo! Your apartment is incredibly cute. I love the exposed brick. Maybe Chris and I can make a trip down sometime... that would be much fun. I've never explored down there, but I do see it on Food network frequently.

So, Chris has probably harassed you already, but what is the new address of this gorgeous abode?? We want you to come to our wedding. We miss you and we probably wouldn't be together if it wasn't for that little brian/chris sanctuary in niagara. You must come! You just must!

Hi Lindsey and Brian,
Just checked your blog, though it took about an hour to download all the pictures. Your apartment looks adorable and I love your small back yard. Grad school is full of reading and paper writing. You will learn quickly how to speed read! Miss you and think of you both often. I plan to knit a cap for Save the Children. Love, Sue

YEAH! I'm so glad to see that you guys are starting to explore and love New Orleans (although I'm not sure why you're not spending all your free time on Bourbon Street). ;-) Gosh, there are so many great little places that I need to remember to recommend to you guys, but I'm sure the locals are taking you in. Looks like your place is absolutely adorable-- glad that worked out.
And, I must say, both of your internships/jobs sound so exciting and interesting. I'm so glad to hear you are both doing well--take care!

p.s. If you guys haven't checked out Magazine Street yet, there are literally miles of great little shops and restaurants.
