Graduation, Parents, and Binzer Last Day

This guy swam right over to us and I pet it on the head and then wrestled it in the bayou for a couple of minutes.

Here was part of the awesome meal that we had with my parents. We had to wait two hours at the restaurant for a table (I forgot to get reservations!), but it was well worth the wait.

Our neighbors rescued some baby possums in nearby City Park. We held them on the day they were found. They tried to bottle feed them (which needs to be done every hour), but they all died after a week.

Here's Lindsey riding around on one of the paddle boats in City Park with a couple of her buddies. You can ride all through the bayou in the park, pretty neat.

Ice cream butt.

Lindsey had a job for a little bit, but the agency lost funding so they had to let a couple of the recent hires go. She loved a lot of her co-workers, so the good-bye was hard. Lindsey will be starting to work at a summer camp with the City Parks Department for two months, and then who knows?

So, we went tubing on a river about an hour north of here in rural Louisiana and it turned into Redneck Apocalypse Now. We saw people get beat up, rednecks slamming beer, and domestic violence in the river, and I lost my wedding band. It was great fun.

My parents came down for my graduation weekend and we had a good time going around and seeing the sights. We went back to Jean Lafitte to see alligators and we saw one jump out of the water and dive. He came up eating a fish, it was awesome.

Awww...

Me and my buddy John King, a fellow graduate. There were about 8 other people who finished my program (Urban and Regional Planning), but only 3 walked.

The graduation.

We brought my folks to WINO before my graduation dinner. You walk around and sample any wines you want, it's really cool.

They give you these sweet hoods, but you don't even wear them. What's the point?!

We introduced everyone to oysters...but now with the stupid oil spill we probably won't be able to eat them again for another 20 years.

We had a backyard pizza party with a couple people from the Planning program. Good times.

Congratulations on your graduation, Brian...you should be proud of this accomplishment!!! Regarding your tubing trip...you didn't hear banjos playing by any chance, did you??? Glad you survived with only a few minor mishaps (losing the wedding band is not minor, my son-in-law did the same thing a few days after the wedding).
